Oh, I’m well aware of Robertsdale. And I’ll mention again US Highway 80 - Demopolis, Uniontown, Selma, White Hall, and the first 10 miles of I-85 in Montgomery. And Creola on Hwy. 43 north of Mobile.

I don’t keep cars long enough to ever need to use what benefits an extended warranty offers. So therefore, I refuse to pay that cost up front. If I do keep a car long past its factory warranty period, I will pay for repairs out of pocket. And if I feel like it’s going to cost me more than I would like, I’ll sell it

I’m not talking about used cars and neither is this article.

I won’t sell family members or friends vehicles UNLESS they get a warranty.

There is phenomenal stand-up bit by the late John Pinette about this, but told through the lens of the extended warranty on a TV from Best Buy:

Quote from the mayor of Fenton (pictured), “I’ll get them rude boys!!”

The goofy thing about these little towns is that they’re often situated on highways that have a higher speed limit going into and out of town. This leads to a “step down” and “step up” speed limit transition. Extreme example would be 65 down to a 35 in 10mph increments. The police in these speed trap towns will

Ask them politely about Jesus’s skin tone and watch their heads explode when you point out he would have been the ONLY WHITE person in the entire Middle East. (Skin tone should be olive, akin to modern Greece if memory serves...)

that’s very possible indeed.

It happened to me once in a Wendys’ parking. Their debit/credit card system were down so I walked across the street to get cash at the ATM. By the time I was back ( not even 5 minutes ) my car was already being towed.

It took the Wendy’s manager to come out and yell at the towing guy for him

Seems like this truck stop should lose 95% of its business overnight??

I’d bet all the tow truck drivers pack heat as well.

Or at the very least the entire A1 yard firebombed.

From what I understand yes there is a contract , but the tow company is essentially maliciously enforcing the contract, on purpose. The lot owner has tried to get the contract voided and IIRC he is working through the court system as we speak.

Location has nothing to do with it, tow truck drivers are always strapped.  Just the nature of the business.

One of the linked articles says another parking site signed a contract with a company that then used A-1 for towing, and they were unable to quickly cancel the contract and regret signing it.

Given the location and nature of the business, I am 100% certain the tow truck guys are also armed.

Both given the Murica! position that a non-zero percentage of truckers have AND how trigger happy Memphis police are!

am I getting this correctly? A tow trucks goes into a truck stop to refill. Does his refill, moves his truck and goes to pay for parking and during that time the trucks get booted?

Doesn’t the truck stop have a contract with that A1 company? The truck stop allows that kind of behavior on their property?

Honestly surprised no employees of these predatory towing companies have been shot yet.
