Do you think the vanity nature of the project kept them from making the obvious move of tying the movie closer to Shazam?  Was it a case of “We can’t be a spinoff of a Kid’s superhero movie!”?

I mean, it’s not exactly a huge question why it didn’t succeed: it was, by all accounts, a mediocre vanity project in a nebulously established franchise that’s been hit or miss based around a relatively niche character who really was only of interest to Johnson himself.

Funny. There’s zero technical reason said White folks can’t follow the hashtag and follow a bunch of awesome Black creators. Doesn’t seem like they’re left out at all to me.

It was really frustrating that they made Drax even more comic relief in the movie sequel instead of exploring those depths. The video game is an excellent example.
