I’m glad they’re not only speaking out, but putting their money where their mouth is, which is more than we can say for most politicians on either side of the aisle these days. Since Trump I’ve developed the belief more and more that the country’s government as a whole frankly needs to be...ahem... overhauled. Just

The straight white woman’s privilege is second only to that of the straight white man. Upset the applecart and they’ll be coming for her next. Gotta protect the hierarchy.

You (the general left) did not bother to push for state x state codification, nor guaranteed income for mothers (a tactic to highlight the innate hypocrisy of forced birth), nd worse yet, you did not bother to strategize with other pro choice advocates within the GOP. Your purity was a waste of time as was your time

One of the things that threatens pregnant people the most is the term pregnant people itself. I am utterly perplexed people are shocked thatvwomens rights are being diminsihed as they actively diminish women.

Hello from the Greys. Because their best interest is not the motivator, but the biggest harm to the people they despise. If removing their rights is the price needed to make their rivals/enemies eternally miserable, they will agree with it.

Yeah and dems won’t play dirty or use any strategic underhanded moves to win. They need to, I too have voted Dem in every local and federal election for the last 20 years, and been disappointed over and over. My mother is a liberal/progressive boomer and the perfect example of the old outdated values of the left wing

10% of Obama 2008 and 2012 voters voted Trump too. In Sanders’ case there’s the argument that he appealed to socially conservative, pro-union, pro-populist policy voters. There’s also the argument that the majority of those people didn’t vote Democrat in the previous elections, so it’s not like they were guaranteed

Hang in there.  This is as bad as I remember it (and I’m 58), but hopefully this will be the thing that gets people off their phones and into the streets.  If not, they deserve what they get.  With that, I need to get ready to head out to the Roe Rally at City Hall.

Just like what is considered “help” in the mental health system.

Because in the beginning Trump was a wild card. He had some weird random progressive seeming ideas too. My super liberal European “progressive” (they think they are progressive but they really aren’t) parents were taken in at the beginning of the campaign too and were like “this guy has some good ideas” and “he isn’t

But they are more than happy to fundraise off of it as an issue then not deliver anything and blame the voters because somehow They did’t vote hard enough or something.

You should have written the article. You are 100% spot on. It’s like people have no idea how civics works.

Definitely not an unpopular opinion. It’s grotesque.

I am absolutely begging you to take a basic civics course.

Unpopular (?) opinion. Covering such a somber topic in slideshow form to garner more clicks and ad revenue is pretty damn awful.

I think part of it is identifying bad actors (or stupid ones) who are pretending to be allies. The other part is that it’s okay to be mad AND plan.

The difference is I don’t know a single person who could be identified as Latinx actually want to be called Latinx.

The person responding to you and the Jez article are wrong - it was a 5/4 decision, not 6/3:

Political positions on abortion are linked to political positions on immigration, tax rates, gun control, and any number of other unrelated issues. People voting for the party that shares their views on those other issues will also be voting for the party that opposes their view on abortion. The advantage of a Supreme
