I’ve owned GTIs (and Audis, et. al.) and my wife has owned Toyotas. The above charts are spot on why people would go beige and bland over black and a blast (my GTI was black and a blast), one of us has had tens of thousands and car repairs, the other has gone through tens of hundreds if even okay really not even of

I am surprised people in the US would pick a bland midsize sedan over a hot hatch like a GTI.

Making his list for the night of the long knives.

You seem sharp with the retorts, but dull with the facts.

So if my own personal path in life lends me to have lived in Alaska for half of my life, attended the start and re-start of the Iditarod a half dozen times, been present at a handful of other dog sled races, have friends who own sled dog kennels...
...if all that

Jeebus - get over yourself.
Do your research, then get back to us about this “ritualistic torturing” and “murder”.

“For hardcore enthusiasts”. You mean investors. Very hardcore investors...

Well, uh, this is awkward.

I vote for the unexpected surprise

Nah, this is more like the Titanic sinking at the dock with no one onboard.

But of course

When you need an affordable V8 that can produce up to a quadrillion horsepower why would you go for anything else?

Very much so.

My wife has an rx350, its an excellent vehicle and runs like a top, paid off two years ago now 7 years old with 100k on the clock. It is sure footed in the snow and comfortable on the highway. The cuv seating position provides excellent visibility.

My father bought one the first year the RX was available.

Say what you will about this vehicle, but a family member has a 2007 RX400h with 215,000 and it runs flawlessly. There have been no issues beyond regular maintenance, and brake pads are changed every 90,000 or so because of the regen system. I’m in awe every time I drive it.

It’s a great choice, especially that model year when the styling was less uhhh polarizing. That v6 is silky smooth too. Lexus in general gets far too much hate around here.
