My thought would be that if a international operator, of a 747, had their aircraft shot down you have the possibility to loose 450+ civilians...the 737 would probably be a third of that. Not to mention the P-8 is operated maritime fields of combat where the chance of an insurgent with a stinger are considerably less.

Confusing the other guy IS important...I was more or less thinking out loud and an issue that should be considered if it were to go forward.

I guess it would more depend on their standoff range. If you can be 200mi from a hot zone a system like that would be fine, ideal given its ability to loiter...pack it with cruise missiles (as you said) and there you have it. If you are packing shorter range munitions then you have a problem...I’d think the tankers,

The only issue I would see would be that the ‘common’ airframe could very easily be confused with a commercial liner...increasing the chance of an incursion with civilian airlines.

Trust me you are not alone. I have had two VWs in my family as well, a 2002 passat and my personal 2008 GTI. Both utter piles. The 2002 Passat burned through two alternators (before 50k), the driver’s side heated seat caught on fire while we were on the highway, then the top end detonated at 64k...5k in repairs to get

A 1995 Ranger Rover with 160K+...nope, nope, nope. You’ll be putting 7,900 right back in it to fix the head gaskets and two dozen additional issues. Not to mention these things can be had for 2000-4000 all day every day and in better condition with less miles. Rarely something this CP rolls across our page.

Haha, well I’m not sure about your analogy but I think you are on the cusp of the actual issue...the symantics of the words with which we describe certain motorsports. In my case I have zero problem using ‘drifting’ to describe a broader range of activities (many of which are’technically’ drifting) whereas Drifting

Interesting viewpoint, definitely one that I can understand. I have been bothered more than once when Doug drives ‘off-road’...when it has been more akin to a logging road (to me, not off-roading, as I drive them weekly as a requirement of research).

To each their own. However, whether you like the use of the term or not, it seems that drifting, as generally defined, is the correct term for this kind of ‘winter driving’.

But you are still watching baseball...in the same way you are watching a guy drift a truck, just not professionally.

I will give you the fact that he was an idiot for not taking sound advise... however I am actually confused why this is a bro-truck.. Stacks, rolling coal, 12in lifts, sure. But a factory non-lifted work truck?

Possible insurance fraud? If so, at least they chose a remote site to dump the truck...

Do you mean the bone-stock f-250/350 work truck? What about the other dozen people that tried and failed? And he actually would have made it if he hadn’t lost momentum trying to go around that jeep.

Many many people, myself included...but no specific reason other than it flows well.

I remember watching that a while back....If I remember right he messed up his exhaust, a cv boot and a suspension bracket of some sort. The thing is, it is seemed abusive to the subaru. Something like a 4runner would have done just as well in that situation...and can do it stock without destroying itself.

While I quite enjoy a good subaru, I doubt that would be the case. Though it would be interesting to slap the same A/T tires on both and see how far they could get. I imagine the subarus would end up having trouble with break over angles and departure/approach angles.

I had to check if that was real...it is...I’m impressed
