And yes, if you hypothesize people with a very specific form of ignorance, people could conceivably be fooled and disappointed. Once. And the terrible result of their failure to read the label would be that they would eat cauliflower, rather than cauliflower mixed with rice.

Homophones are annoying, but you can always clearly tell the difference from context. Same for the meanings of right. If you’re an astronomy class, you know they mean sun and not son. But if you’re in the grocery store, “rice with cauliflower” is an entirely possible thing to see.

How is it a lack of logic and reasoning to assume food is what it says it is unless given reason to think otherwise? If you ordered grilled chicken and got braised pork, you’d be surprised. It’s not a matter of misreading the name, grilled chicken means a particular thing. Reasoning doesn’t somehow negate a misleading

Hey, if there’s one thing more dangerous than heart disease it’s enemy soldiers. People used to shoot themselves in the hand to try to get out of wars, fried chicken’s a lot easier.

This isn’t a matter of words being flexible, this is a matter of words being used in a misleading way.

It’s not a difficult concept to teach them, it’s just inconvenient to have to explain something to someone just because it has a misleading name, instead of just giving it a clearer name. It’s not rocket science, but it’s an absolutely pointless obstacle. There’s a reason that you can’t usually put cheese in the name

It would be in the frozen vegetables section even if it was just rice with cauliflower.

That hypothetical “lemon chicken” example is what happens if you apply the exact same naming convention used in cauliflower rice to another dish. The only way to know cauliflower rice is cauliflower put through a ricer instead of rice with cauliflower is to be told about it or to see it for yourself, the name is

You’re going to teach every child about every niche new recipe? What about adults? It seems like the easier solution is just making the labels clearer.

That said, that’s still a grim name for a dessert. Would you eat a slice of heroin crumble? Fentanyl fudge?

Even rice with cauliflower would still heavily feature cauliflower on the marketing. And you shouldn’t have to check the ingredients label on everything you buy just to make sure the name isn’t lying. You can’t call your dish crab chowder if it doesn’t contain crab, even if the ingredient list says what it actually

How is it stupidity? If you order lemon chicken at a restaurant, do you first do a google search to make sure it doesn’t actually mean lemons that have been carved and cooked to resemble chicken? This isn’t a matter of intelligence, it’s a matter of inaccurate labeling.

you cannot ‘charge’ or ‘tax’ people who can simply turn around and pass that expense onto others. Raise the minimum wage, and the cost of everything you pay for goes up by that same amount *and more* before you even get to earn your higher wages.

This country has always had a wealth gap, and America usually fixes this problem...for white people.

I really don’t see Kim Kardashian getting her law degree, mostly just because it’s a massive pain for something that won’t really help her. She’s already wealthy, her skillset doesn’t really have a lot of overlap with law stuff. I guess she could go over her own contracts, maybe? It’s just a lot of work for very

Is that a bad thing? Dads already get less emphasis as parents, now they have to be compared to Trump? You would never compare an incompetent leader to a single mom, that would just be cruel.

People understand peanut butter is different because everyone is taught about the existence of peanut butter as a child, if that hadn’t happened a lot of people would probably be confused about what it is.

It’s not a matter of not reading labels. Say you go to a restaurant that offers a side dish called “garlic rice”. Realistically, what would you expect that to be? Rice with garlic, not garlic cut up into little pieces until it resembles rice. This is a matter of label clarity.

I don’t think it can reasonably be taken as a dog whistle when the CEO isn’t Jewish, it’s not like he’s being anti-semitic against an Irish guy.

The people at Winterfell, the assassins, probably some of the nobles at King’s Landing. She’s reasonably well connected.
