Every wedding? Try any gathering of two or more black folks over 40! Play some "Flashlight" and people go wild. Bustin' out the crazy dance moves from the '70s. I am fully guilty of rushing the dance floor. Even if I have to spend the entire next day "resting my eyes" on the sofa.

I've seen the P-Funk crew live so many times I've lost count. I agree, it's a truly joyous and transcendent experience.

I was 15 in 1978, and I absolutely loathed disco. I also love to dance. Gimme some Parliament / Funkadelic any day.

Just a wannabe Modigliani with no original talent or concepts. Ripps completely lacks the bravery or skill to master oil & canvas. And, any attempt at sculpture would be laughable.

Same happened to me. I was on a business trip with a colleague with which I had "friendly relations". We were traveling from Memphis to Nashville for meetings, and made the mistake of stopping at a roadside BBQ joint.

For those in the Gawkerverse not old enough to have seen the film "Angel Heart" in the theaters. That movie is/was truly awful. And not in a good "This will become a cult film" kinda way.

Absolutely Fabulous: Season 3, Episode 3: Sex (20 Apr. 1995) is available on Amazon Instant Video (free to Amazon Prime members).

One of the most important features of the Affordable Care Act that no one talks about (on the left or right ) is that a pre-existing condition is no longer a factor in the calculation for medical insurance coverage, and no one can be eliminated from medical insurance coverage due to a pre-existing condition.

In my tiny town in Western Maryland, cab rides are free on New Year's Eve. The Yellow Cab here will drive you home anywhere in the county.

Whoa, thank you I had saved the YA book for the movie, but didn't see the soundtrack.

Bats were identified as a likely source species at two US government research labs as early as April 2014 — USAMRIID (United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases) and NIAD (National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases).

Absolutely. My 11 year-old niece saw both "Annie" and "Into The Woods" this Christmas holiday. She has demanded a copy of the Annie soundtrack. We'll get her a copy of the original cast 1977-82 Broadway production with Andrea McArdle as Annie, until the current movie soundtrack becomes available.

I had a a tuxedo and three-piece suits as a girl-child back in the early 1970's . It was a very popular fashion thing back then. I wore the tux to holiday and other formal events. The three-piece suites were for school and more casual events. I even wore neckties.

I couldn't agree with you more. I'm at my older brothers house now for the holidays, and will be staying for the next two weeks. Happy, happy times.

I had eaten at several Ruth's Chris Steakhouse before the big franchising push in the late 1980s through 1990s. It was an entirely different experience back then. I've even had dinner at the original flagship store in New Orleans; that was in the late '80s though.

Perhaps the women were invited, but wisely declined.

I think the Frankfort Police Major meant that Facebook posts are a minor issue, and I agree. Facebook is certainly not enough of an issue to incite this type of severe aggression followed by violence.

"Hey Little 12 Toes" been my jam since grade school.

As I said in an earlier comment, the girlfriend (as first victim) has been all over the news in Metro DC . Front page of the Washington Post the first day the shootings occurred, and several days afterward. Front page of my local rural Maryland newspaper. It even made the NBC national news.

It's all over the news here in the DC metro area. I also saw a report on the NBC national news.
