I wasn’t arguing against diversity or modern ideas of our culture in superhero books, just that a book doesn’t necessarily need those things to be good. Now, I haven’t picked up Black Hammer yet, I like to do all my

It seems a bit unfair to criticize the book for something it’s not. Basically every superhero comic made these days is a retread of things that have come before, what matters to me in a superhero story these days is if I’m given a suitable reason to care about the characters and if it’s entertaining. No, she didn’t. I still don’t really have any examples for women being the punchlines of jokes, nor scenes in which the are portrayed as childish and weak. She for sure doesn’t have to give me any more examples; she doesn’t really owe me anything. She also doesn’t have to prove herself to me, but even if that was some

It’s literally a critic’s job to justify the criticism. There’s no disrespect in asking a critic for clarification on something, especially as its been done here.
