“Zuckerberg reportedly instructed his staff to only pick families of Democrats who’d voted for Trump for him to drop in on unannounced.”

Good catch. Based on the disposable plates and cutlery I think the most likely scenario is that he brought the food.

Yes, I agree. We never established whether we were talking about changing one individual’s mind or changing the status quo. Different tactics work in different scenarios. I was talking specifically about individuals but I didn’t make that clear. Your tactics obviously work better on a large scale.

Do you write music?

So what’s the solution? We tried shaming and ridicule and that didn’t work. And as a direct result fucking Trump got elected.

Well, you’re wrong.

Doesn’t surprise me at all. I live in LA, some of the clubs out here do like a $25,000 bottle service. I still think it’s absurd though. :-/

While they clean their guns.

Did you mean “size”?

“Festival-goers paid anywhere from $450 for a no-frills day pass to up to $250,000 for the full VIP experience.”

So how to go about convincing the other side to agree with you? Do you shout them down or do you engage with them and try to educate them?

“I can’t think of *any* music festival I’d pay $5,000, let alone $12,000, to attend.”

“I wore some Indian (well, from India) clothes at a traditional Indian wedding. My father wore African garb when he visited Africa and it was seen as a positive thing.”

I don’t feel strongly about this issue and I see valid points on both sides, but I wanted to point out that a sombrero is a cultural symbol, a cowboy hat isn’t. Blue jeans, sun glasses, and deodorant aren’t cultural symbols either.

I don’t necessarily disagree, though I think most of that can be attributed to the fandom. What I like about the UC is having everything set in the same universe creates a nice sense of connection and history. With the AU shows they wipe the slate clean every year or two and restart. It just doesn’t give me that same

I hope there were $250,000 packages, and I hope none of those people ever get refunded. If you’re stupid enough to spend a quarter of a million dollars on a weekend festival to see Blink 182 you don’t deserve to have that money.

This reference never gets old :)

God that press release is depressing. Can this whole fucking festival scene die already?

It’s nothing like that. Should a chef not eat their own food? Should a photographer not hang their own photos in their home?

Your statement is contradictory. You acknowledged that many artists make music they want to hear, yet are confused why they’d want to listen to it?
