It was bad. Really bad.
It was bad. Really bad.
No, I actually assumed she read it off a prompter. Did not realize there was some sort of rehearsal. But that’s probably stupid on my part, because of course she is not going to go into something and blindly read off her part at this point.
Hmm. First, I don’t think anybody thinks it was funny - not even white people. Second, I do believe it was racist. I just assumed she read it off a prompter, but someone else said it was rehearsed and everything. So sounds like she has no deniability here at all.
What a bad choice on all parts. I kind of assumed she was just reading from some prompter, but sounds like it was rehearsed and everything.
Ah, got it. Didn’t realize there was a level of rehearsal. Don’t know what either one was thinking.
It absolutely was racist. Am I in the minority, though, for not attributing a racist joke made by someone else to Hillary?
Exactly. If they actually had a policy manual stating what is acceptable and not acceptable regarding hair, that is one thing. But I’m sure they don’t. And even that might get them in trouble if the banned hairstyles were associated with one race over another. They should have just kept their mouths shut.
And, just a little teeny correction - this is not the “justice system.” She is in the civil system now. Don’t confuse the two. They are very different systems.
She is an alleged victim in an investigation which has been suspended. She is not entitled in a civil case, which is based upon her false accusations, to protection as a witness. You know how I know? Because as a civil attorney, I have dealt with this issue. Just because someone makes up a story that does not mean…
Yeah, you’re missing the point. Witnesses in civil cases are not entitled to protection. You need to read up on the law. The only “protection” we afford witnesses are those to violent crimes whose lives may be in danger. She does not qualify for any sort of “witness protection” and is not entitled to any. In the…
Yeah, I pay that much for an entire month membership at the Y - which includes spinning classes, among the various other free classes. Talk about a racket.
And we wonder where teenage boys get the idea that it’s ok to be violent towards women. How about from the men who are supposed to be their role-models like this tool.
Of what??!! Witnesses of violent crime are entitled to protection. The only thing she has witnessed is the fallout of her lies. There is no evidence that any crime happened here. She is not a witness entitled to protection.
I think you nailed it. I believe that while she is not a victim, she does suffer from some sort of mental health disorder. And she still probably needs help. Nothing good can come of her being outted.
It’s a good question. What I have read, though, suggests that Jackie appears to be a pathological liar who convinced Erderly that she was, in fact, a victim. She also appeared to have convinced Ederly not to contact anybody who could verify her claims in order to protect Jackie. So, I’m not 100% sure, but I think…
That’s a fair point. I did not think of the safety aspect, just the privacy one.
It’s not affording her protections from undue harassment. It’s affording her privacy protections which are given to victims of crime. And you have to weigh those against the public’s right to know. Trials and depositions are presumed to be public. Most state constitutions have some provision stating this. So, a judge…
It’s more than fair. There are no facts that I’m aware suggesting that she was, in fact, a victim and is entitled to protections afforded victims of crime. Nonetheless, I’m glad that judge is being cautious.
This is the right decision. Of course her testimony is relevant to their case. In my opinion, she’s lucky they are sealing the deposition. I have yet to see any facts which suggest she was, in fact, a victim of anything. That being said, it’s always good to be cautious and I applaud the judge for finding a nice…
I love golf, but I still understand the complaints. I live in an area with some really cheap courses and bought cheap clubs off of Amazon. But if we are complaining about it being a sport for the “wealthy” that needs to die, I can think of far more expensive sports including Skiing and playing Hockey. And you know…
