She brought a lot of warmth to the show.

yes, in high school he was so lonely that he wanted to kill himself that day in the tower, but he was popular enough to represent the student body by giving Buffy her "Class Protector" umbrella and to help organize students for the graduation revolt.
Shows can really get stale when they depend on the double lives of characters. Colony really needed for the characters to become firmly rooted in the resistance, although it's going to be tough being underground with three kids.
The show did a great job of elevating minor characters across multiple seasons to give the show continuity and depth. And Danny played a terrific Jonathan, the friend-enemy-friend who really might have been a Scoobie had things been different.
By the way, thanks to AV Club! "Buffy Week" made everything considerably better!
It wasn't dark enough, even if it did nearly kill Hillary Swank.
The "Frankensoldier" thing had already been done so many times that it became somewhat predictable. The Big Bad in this particular season was more about moving Buffy's story along than about the end of the world.
It isn't just Colbert. It's a plethora of late nigh political comedy shows, most of whom are doing a much better job of calling SCROTUS out on being a lying sack of shit than the network news it.
As I said in another discussion, the way Buffy defeats Adam is beginning of the completion of her character arc. Throughout the series, much is made of the difference between Buffy and every other slayer. "The mission is always what is important" to a slayer, and, throughout every season, the slayer makes decisions…
I like the fatalism that makes it funny sad and sad funny.
I played this record until the needle slid across the vinyl.
I'm glad he mentioned "Tabula Rasa."

Yes, and, in the end of S7, she knows she needs more than to be saved by a guy. She knows she's "cookie dough" and not ready for it yet. She wants to find out who she is now that she doesn't have to save the world "a lot"
Yep.
Fair enough. Personally, I like the episode BUT i think the writing itself makes the episode hard to watch. And I also think the episode was hard on the actors.
I loved Wilkins eating the weasel of a principal. I hated that Faith was so damaged as to see Wilkins as a father figure.
Good for you!
Wheedon wrote it using memories from his own mother's death!
I so agree with you.
