I meant the Ellen Burstyn -Kris Kristoffersom movie! I had actually forgotten about the Lavin TV show. (Wasn't it just called "Alice?") What I remember about it now is that Polly Holliday stole every scene she was in and that I thought Linda Lavin, who was a musical theater actress was miscast for the part.
i like the Netflix incarnation more than I liked the original series, which I thought suffered from being a derivative and more strident version of "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore."
