Is it worth it, really?
Is it worth it, really?
It was a different time...
Obviously you want to argue are perpetuate some sort of personal enmity with a stranger on the Internet, so I’ll stop responding because I don’t want to go back and forth with a bunch of anger.
I read what I perceived to be thinly-veiled enmity toward someone who might chose to question what his “handlers” told him. In his statement I got the feeling he didn’t want to end up like Dave Chappelle (marginalized due to a charge of mental illness or bad behavior) so he decided to quit rather than be fired. I felt…
Yeah, I didn’t read it that way and find it interesting that you did considering you “work in television.” It explains so much.
Yes!
Just wanted an excuse to post this:
Thank you for being so candid; I know that was a lot to unpack.
Biggie picture: The same apparatus the police and court system support will be turned against them someday soon. Police forces will be allowed to run wild until they are deemed “unmanageable” and taken over by a larger entity with centralized power elsewhere. At first I thought it was a conspiracy theory until I did…
Say this again for the people in the cheap seats! Perhaps a new pamphlet needs to be drafted addressing this because it’s becoming a problem and many good people are walking away from what were once supportive and helpful meetings due to this behavior. It makes me infuriated and feel helpless all at once.
I like Aisha Tyler because but I do think she’s the other side of the coin of Underwood, knows that, and kind of goes over the top with it. Underwood seems to relish her role as the “Mammy” archetype which makes my skin crawl.
So it is the sound people/production staff or the “stars” not showing up for sound checks and rehearsals? Perhaps both? My kingdom for a competent sound tech and a stage manager willing to yell at “stars” when they’re missing cues (which seemed to happen a few times.)
Uh, add Robert Randolph to the list too, please.
“Throw down your wallet!”
Was that a joke? Oh my gosh, you’re hilariously square, but I love it!
Listen, we all love her and she’s a national treasure. But she needs to drop the shady manager and take a sabbatical. The Lionel Richie tour is a bad idea and will not end well.
Mixed feelings; At the end of the day she knew what kind of organization it was and chose to speak to their members anyway. Weird experience or not, the lady will always get the side-eye from me on that:
You don’t remember this?
My question is, who marries these people? Do they “present well” at first? You saw no signs of a personality disorder or familial dysfunction? There are tons of healthy people out there, I wonder how this one slipped through the cracks with you? (No judgment, I just wonder how it happens. I just broke it off with…
Well...uh. Hang in there. Were you commenting to say you wished you’d vetted your partner and found out a bit more about her life and family history before marriage? Did you have low self-esteem? Why did you think she was “the one?” I’m sorry to pry but I’m wondering if she exhibited any Borderline behavior during…
