Just because some group of people or cultural police or whatever said something is offensive doesn’t mean it has no value either. I’m pretty sure Trey and Matt won’t care if a group of people say they are offended by South Park.

By the same logic just because someone of a particular race says they’re offended by something doesn’t mean it’s offensive.

THIS. This was THE WORST EPISODE in a while. I couldn’t even keep it on while doing laundry. I legit stopped it on the DVR and hit delete. It was AWKward to watch Awkwafina. Nervous? Perhaps. but the writing was so bad, the jokes not funny at all, and the sketches just soo out of nowhere that it wasn’t watchable.

Was he faking it or was he faking that he faked it, and which is worse?

That cold open was so... sweet. I’d like to think that at least some of that sweetness was intended as a genuine gift to the audience and it wasn’t just there to contrast with the bitterness of the rest of the ep.

I think most of it is reflexive hyper-partisanship. Everything is binary now.

Ego Nwodim is on SNL now?! I haven’t been watching SNL, and while I read the reviews on here occasionally, I started skimming the back half of this review and missed the part that mentioned her. She’s excellent in all her podcast appearances so I’m happy she’s moving up, but bummed to hear she’s being relegated to…

This was a perfectly fine episode. If the show stays like this it will be a perfectly fine season, which would be better than the last few seasons and about as good as you can hope for for a show on season 9 and well past its prime.
