The 740i is still Pretty Damn Fast. A lot of these cars will never see the redline outside of the dealership employees. The hundred extra horsepower is meaningless to a lot of people.

The last-gen WRX had a 2.5L in the US for 2006 and 2007, same as the STI. But the WRX had a much smaller TD04 turbo.

I care about quarter mile more than 0-60. I’m almost always rolling when I decide to punch the throttle, so I’d rather have a car that traps high in the quarter than one with a low 0-60.

FWD has its advantages. One of them is overall drivetrain efficiency. They might both be 200hp, but the Si is putting more of that power to the ground. Plus, weight isn’t that big of a deal after 50mph.
The MINI Cooper S is FWD and fucking awesome.
