There’s a line in the movie where someone says, “I need you to do what you did for us in Iraq” and no one treats that as maybe not such a great strategy for engagement. 

I don’t have a problem finding bipartisan solutions for things that are actually problems, immigration is not a problem it’s a boon for this country, and building a wall will not deter illegal immigration whatsoever. The pool one is the one that sticks out most for me too. There’s something about how he casually he drags them in that just bothers me on a core level.

Any scary movie sounds silly if you just read the description. Guy in William Shatner mask stabs teenagers for having sexy. Girl with green ridged face pukes green pea soup all over a priest. The atmosphere is everything. And the home movies more than anything else in that movie have legitimate unnerving atmosphere.

I thought it was mostly silly, but the home movies did unnerve me in a way that was unusually potent for a mainstream horror movie.

Wow I had the exact opposite reaction, I expected to love Lean on Pete more than anything this year but left a little disappointed, The Rider was way better than I expected.

Centrists and progressives in this country could pretty much be an unbeatable coalition if we didn’t decide we hated each other more than Nazis.

Soldiers don’t get to choose who or why they fight and it’s pretty fucked up to pretend they do. Believe me I find the way Americans treat their military overall pretty creepy but I think setting a baseline of “Hey don’t make fun of someone who lost their eye in battle” isn’t asking that much.

Also one time I saw Peter Gallagher waiting in sweat pants at a Rite Aid to get his flu shot.

I had to reschedule the annual tune up on Phillip Roth’s generator tune up, he was ok with it.
