It doesn’t doesn’t have an installer. I just put the exe file in a folder in Program Files (x86), then right clicked the exe to create a shortcut and right clicked the shortcut to pin the app to the taskbar

The program at howtogeek never worked for me on Windows 7 64 bit. I used ActualHideDesktopIcons from the ActualTools dot com forum. I put the link in a previous post.

ActualHideDesktopIcons does the same thing for Windows users. The program is free and it was developed by ActualTools and can be found only in their forum but it isn’t listed as one of their tools. See the last post by Alexander Belyakov.
