Thanks for the refresher course. Let’s not forget the M head where you could never get the motor to stop (as seen on TV)

Ta ra ra boom de ay, we have no school today, our bus just passed away, it got in something’s way, we watched it fold away, the train had lunch today, and that is why we say, ta ra ra boom de ay

“American Idle”

My favorite intake sound is the old Chevy stovebolt six with the one barrel and the long intake runners. When you nail the throttle you get “Zzzzzzfoom, zzzzzzfoom” Delayed reaction between throttle opening and increased rpm. Never get tired of that unique sound

#8 Taught my son clutchless shifting last weekend. Gave him a five minute lesson in my ‘06 Colorado (Izusu trans - which is the easiest I’ve found to learn on). Let him try it - he got 1 thru 5 and 5 thru 1 just about perfect on the first try. Maybe this year I’ll finally win father-of-the-year.

The only thing I can think of that could possibly improve this is if Jeff Gordon had done it. But I’m just being greedy. A guy can dream...

I’ve ridden some “vintage” (well, they weren’t “vintage” at the time) bikes where you never, ever used the front brake, unless you wanted to Nadia Comenici over the handlebars. This Harley seems much safer by comparison.

“...and into the wall he put him.” Sarah Palin is jealous.

Nice how they had to use 14A and B but didn’t use 22A thru D. I think I knew who drew this

I had two vehicles: One I paid $70 for and the other I paid $235 for and neither one would catch fire. So it seems that so far, $1200 is the bottom line for combustible.

There sure is a high price of admission for having a combustible vehicle these days. I remember when you could get an Olds Omega for 1/100th the cost that would incinerate.

Yes there is not.

Not too good horsepower/dollar ratio would be my only complaint.

Excellent article. I’ve often wondered what really happened there.

And if that’s too un-PC, then big weed.

Sorry if this shows up as recommended/unrecommended/recommended. Kinja...

Notice the gearshift pre-heater in the full picture.

Want to see pictures of the bookshelf you’re building.

Since you mentioned Labor Day, this seems appropriate
