I hope the families sue and actually win.

My mom had a stroke two weeks ago, and that knowledge has me shaken to my very core.

this is what I am wondering... the real drama here seems to be why emergency services were not contacted by the nursing home. if it were my family member dead, i would be asking that question and not giving a damn if they called the governor or the pope or Jesus Christ.

I feel like there’s a monumental amount of hubris and stupidity to go around with this scenario and those poor patients never stood a chance.

My mother has worked in a nursing home for approximately 30 years and I can tell you that the number of fucks administrators give about their residents lies squarely between zero and none.

1. I hope the family members of these residents sue: the facility; the State; the Governor; his staff members; the heads of the ‘proper agenc[ies]’.

I’m not sure how it is in Florida, but in Virginia nursing homes are extremely reluctant to call 911 because how many times they do so is reflected in their statistics and can affect their continuing to do business.

Remember that old X-Files episode (first season I think) that had the Flukeman monster? Well, he was more attractive and less of a monster that Rick Scott.

Who would have thought electing a goddamned criminal as Governor of Florida would be a bad thing? Oh, and then his shitbag AG is a fucking POS corrupt grifter too.

Well that’s convenient.

I mean, it’s not like I’m required to retain every bit of communication that I receive or send from my place of business for record keeping purposes. OH WAIT, yes I am.

We brought this lovely cross-eyed kitty home from the rescue place two weeks ago! She’s in a bitey mood (only 3 mos old, what can you do) but sometimes is sweet and takes cute pics.

Now playing

As some may know from previous posts my mum has been battling cancer for the last 20 years, breast cancer twice and then told last year it was terminal cancer and had spread to her bones. Sadly last week she passed away at the age of 70 whilst I was on holiday in Canada. She’d been a life long Frank Sinatra fan since

There’s always mischief in his eyes.

There’s mischief in his eyes.

It’s the classic British backhand.

I am sure he was being ironic; it’s British humour, I think. One hears that and realizes that one hasn’t been very busy at all. Then shame and guilt set in before righting the course.

Normally I assume people are reading way too much into stuff, but one of my younger brothers looks a lot like Prince Harry (has been told by strangers he should get a job impersonating him, etc.) and this is the EXACT facial expression he makes when he’s doing something secretly rascally and thinks he’s getting away

If that’s not a stifled giggle at 0:06, I don’t know what is.

Wow, that sure looks intentional.
