I haven’t read all the comments yet but I’m a big fan of the loafer or oxford. They are much classier today than they were 20 years ago. I have a red patent leather loafer, a quilted blue loafer, a copper oxford, and a brown leather loafer.

Aerosoles has a really good collection of flats with arch support this season, and many of them are definitely work-worthy. You could possibly go with a low block heel round toe shoe. Low block heels offer a lot of stability and are easy to walk distances in.
