The recent job opening they posted ended with a paragraph encouraging diversity in applicants. I’m crossing my fingers that they take this opportunity to hire a writer from an under-represented demographic.

Generally true, but I recall in the past some stories where Go Fund Me has helped Black People and Trans people. So it is not without some redeeming value.  Perhaps the better approach would be to limit Go Fund Me to Black and Trans causes.
