Minnesota had a Democrat governor, so Franken was replaced by a Democrat (Tina Smith, who won re-election in 2018 but not nearly as easily as her counterpart, Amy Klobuchar). I have always believed that had Franken stayed, it would have fueled the fire for Roy Moore's supporters and he would have won in Alabama a

I quote Sandra from the “Cheques” skit every time I see or write one. HERE, THE NUMBER. THEN AGAIN IN LETTERS.

Right? I kind of saw it as a parallel to the cliches of upper class NYC women always going to the same therapist. "You MUST see Dr. Reisman on 66th!"

SHE GREW UP AS AMAZING AMY! How could she not have had a complex?

Having only seen Flynn’s works adapted to screen and not read her books, I agree she’s a damn good writer. Guessing SO was better as a book. I thought it could have been a great film but I found the miniseries to be plodding by the end. The last two episodes I felt I was watching out of obligation.

Maybe I should try Heartburn again. I read the book about 12 times and could never get through the movie.

She's far too lazy for that. Also, her husband had a plaigarism scandal and went off on Seth Meyers on Twitter in a homophobic rant, and her father-in-law worked for Ryan Zinke. She has more baggage than SHS.

Many of these movies were cast by Allison Jones, who is brilliant at what she does. BRIDESMAIDS is great, IMO, in part because the villain (Rose Byrne) is played by a classically trained actress while everyone else is played by improv comics who are all friends and know each other. The vibe is already set up.

I think the problem with WINE COUNTRY was that they had, what, 7 principal characters? The formula is really to go with no more than 4, because there’s no room for anyone to get into their complexities (the career woman! The goofy lesbian! The worried mom!) I wanted the movie to be about Tina Fey’s character because

THE HEAT reminded me of a much better version of PINEAPPLE EXPRESS. I was really surprised by how graphic its violence was.

I read it today and thought the same thing! Yes, the author points out the "raped" gaffe, but by no means was it the entire point of the profile. I thought she came across really human, at least as much as someone who has been a famous icon for 40 yeare can be.

As the NYT article pointed out, I think people are fascinated by Madonna's age because she has no contemporary. Prince and Michael Jackson are dead.

I wonder if the “calling writers by numbers and not names" thing was inspired by the fact that Roseanne notoriously did that to her writers (including Joss Whedon, Chuck Lorre, Amy Sherman-Palladino ...)

When Wiig came back to host the first time, she did so many skits with the female cast, and it was kind of mind-boggling. She absolutely dominated the show during her run. I can't fault her as much as the writers.

There was also a moment in the Taylor Lautner episode where she read the wrong person’s line on the cue card.

Season 1 of “Nip/Tuck”, in which Sean McNamara waches his terminally ill mistress kill herself via barbituates and a plastic bag as “Rocketman” plays. They cut to a tearful Dylan Walsh right at the “And I think it’s gonna be a long long time” lyric and it’s heartwrenching

I miss the apartment as much as I do the dude, so I get this.

They sell Topshop and Topman at Nordstrom, where people are hopefully treated much better.

My roommate and I started sleeping together. DON’T. I blame National Tequila Day.

Thank you! You too!
