@bilk: I recently picked up a copy of the consumer version of Sony Vegas. Learning to use it and honing my editing skills beyond what iMovie and Windows Movie Maker have allowed is one of my summer projects. I haven't started yet, so I couldn't say for sure if it's good or not, but I hear good things.

Woo, Friday! And a dog!

When the newly remastered Resident Evil was first released for the Gamecube, my friends and I played it at one friend's house. The lights were off and his sister's snake tank was next to the tv, blacklight shining. It was very creepy and frightening.

I would be one of those "almost 1 million," if I didn't already have an HTPC hooked up to the same TV as the Wii. Also, my second-hand Wii is currently having some volume issues, so that wouldn't work. But, yeah, I can totally see these numbers.

I will soon be stopping my Direct TV service. What stopped me for so long was my contract. My contract finally ran out a few days ago, but I'm now hopelessly addicted to a few shows on HBO. Once these last shows are done, I'll be dropping it. The biggest thing I'll miss is DVR, which I can achieve without, but it's

Probably nothing but Starcraft II Beta and Phantom Hourglass. If I beat Phantom Hourglass, I'll finally start playing Pokemon: Heartgold, which has been sitting on my end-table for a week now without being opened.

Praise the Lord: TAKS testing is officially over...

@MattyMattMatt: I sit back, but with a good game I'll be playing for an hour and then realize that I'm clenching every muscle in my body. It's weird.

I use my 42" tv as my monitor for pc gaming (and console of course), but find that sitting in my recliner is difficult with some games. Since getting in on the SC2 beta, I have moved to a lawn chair in the center of my living room. Have to see how much Vespene Gas I have!

@blackfox601: Your point about Big Daddy was exactly what I was thinking when I read this. I was like "Yeah...you were SUPPOSED to laugh when he got stabbed and hit by the car. Did this audience of supposed degenerate gamers laugh when Big Daddy died?"

@Panzercat: You had me up until you said Kickass was bad. What the hell? That was the best damn movie I've seen in years...

@striferoks: Now let's see that faster and set to the Benny Hill music.

@GundamAC197: Him getting hit by the car IS over the top. That was the point. The movie takes you from laughing and cheering for Kickass as he faces the muggers and starts fighting them, to feeling pain and fear and empathy when he is very realistically stabbed, to being shocked and laughing at the absurdity and irony

@crabperson: Heh...I've never seen someone new to the Wii put the disc in correctly.

It really seems like you didn't get the movie at all...

D-Link Wireless N, here. While I can put together a computer with a damn blindfold on, I know just about NOTHING regarding networking. I bought N because I was told to and I'm a good little sheep.

@Ryan M. Moore: At my first school we called that our "Safety Meeting" for some reason. Here...here I don't hang out with the other teachers outside of work.
