@Jared Bennett: Any HD card will do. A Radeon HD 5850 can be had new for around $50 and used for as low as $20 and does awesomely (it's what I use in my HTPC/gaming computer). In fact, I think Gizmodo recently named it the top card in that price-range.

@Flail: That's strange that it does that, because my Android phone (MyTouch) sounds the alarms no matter what.

Happy Friday, everyone! Only 8 more weeks left and then I'm off for the Summer, whoo! Right now, I'm on two hard-charges with my students - level students are review, review, reviewin' in preparation for the TAKS exam on April 30th. AP students are drilling like crazy in preparation for the AP exam the week after.

This seems great. Probably check it out when I get home.

This morning I was having some sort of weird waking dream that I can't quite remember. All I know is that I had to do some sort of experiment that involved me sleeping on the couch, using our dog as a pillow, and turning off my alarm over and over again. Turning off the alarm was a specific part of it. Every time I

@johnsmith1234: Yeah, I get up at 5 on weekdays, but on the weekends I don't get up until 7-8.

@chiieddy: Man, I really love having a yard for my dog to crap in. When we lived in an apartment I had to walk her every morning before work and it made me late more than once.

First alarm rings at 5am, I usually hit the "dismiss" button and then (hopefully) get up when my 5:15 alarm goes off. Out of the house by 5:45-6am and then a 50-60 minute commute to Houston.

@NyQuil012: Is there any way to know when the BOC will show up, or is it random?

In case anyone was wondering, Google Reader will NOT work for this. It updates so slowly that any actually popular item will already have sold out by the time it posts. It would be fine for non-WootOff days, though.

This is kind of funny, because I was working on an Android overview video last night and I was mentioning the lack of auto-syncing as being a positive aspect of Android phones rather than a negative. I can see why this would be neat if you like auto-syncing, though. What would be ideal to me would be the ability to

@Zinger314: That's what I'm using and was the one I was talking about.

Finally upgrading to 3.6 on all of my machines, but not looking forward to losing ietab (I did upgrade on my primary machine last week and find a replacement, but I don't like it as much as the original).

@TheFu: When I had my star, if I was logged into my profile on Gizmodo and clicked the "you have X replies" thing, then I had my star powers on whatever site. If I was visiting that site independently of that, though, then no star.

I'm sorry...Firefox is having a rough time with Gawker today for me.

World History (10th grade). My teacher, Ms. Gunter, was my main inspiration in becoming a history teacher. I try to model my teaching style off of her as much as I can and have so far been very successful as a teacher.

@farcedude: I had a star on Gizmodo, but then I went and said "Will in blend?" and Adam Frucci took my star away. I prefer Lifehacker, anyway. I can wait.

@whiteflea: crap, I forgot I got off work at 2:20 today! Spring Break already started without me!

@Archnemesis_Goldenhair: I start Spring Break in....holy crap, my Spring Break started 4 minutes ago! I need to leave! Have a good one!
