@wjglenn: I just want to say that I'm envious of a married man that is allowed to put such things in their den (though the game room is more reasonable).

@Swimatm: dogs, have a 5 year-old chocolate lab at home that is a full-fledged member of the family. Cats...well, they always try to claw and bite me, so I'm not really a fan, but I love animals in general.

I just lectured my 11th grade AP history students about how the new Star Wars films were crap and the Jedi are a bunch of slavers who deserved their deaths (yes, Karin Travis convinced me of the latter). I'm such an awesome teacher :)

@icecreamman: On subject of what Facedude says about no TV: If you can't see getting rid of the TV (I'm pretty into the whole optimum entertainment system thing), you can compromise and just stop paying for television service. If you are forced to go through Netflix or Hulu or what-have-you to get TV, you end up

@LastVigilante: I haven't done it, but I looked into it. Unless I'm wrong, which I don't think I am, it's going to cost upwards of $3,000 to get your private license, and that's assuming you already own a plane. You pay quite a bit every time you get in the cockpit, and you have to log something like 120 hours of

My Sundays are typically pretty full, so that means I have to try to pick it up on a Saturday. The guy I bought it from, however, takes days and days to

@Tsylord: A near-death experience on my morning commute usually conquers any sluggishness...but I don't recommend it.

@JesusDeSaad: That's a good point, about pirating as a demo measure. As long as you actually either delete or buy after a reasonable amount of time.

@polobunny: back when I used to not have a conscience about pirating things, I felt fully justified in pirating Windows XP because it was, like, way too expensive, man!

@icecreamman: it helps to have a wife that hates TV. Might I suggest Wii Fit? It's a nice bridge between couch potato and actual exercise.

@Defenestrated: Ok, I nerdraged because you jumped on me for asking for encyclopedic knowledge when all I asked for was common sense. Sorry for calling names.

@adumbguy: coupons can help, but only if they are for things you would already buy.

@NorwoodIsMyHero: Back when I had my star through Gizmodo, if I was logged in there and clicked the "_____ replied to your post in ________," I would end up promoting my own comments by replying to the reply thread they were in.
