Trying is nice, sure, but let’s look at the possibilties: it’s handled beautifully, everyone loves it, it’s a big step forward for games. It ends up having one or more of the issues mentioned above, reception is pretty negative because, other than people disappointed, nobody really cares as it’s just re-affirming the

“In particular, since you’ve got Evie there, you could see her helping one of the main feminists, somebody like Josephine Butler, attempt to save prostitutes from illegal imprisonment by the police. I think that would make for a great mission.”

But did you notice that all of the women in AC2 are prostitutes or family members of important characters (or both)?

If you had watched any other History Respawned videos you’d see that Prof. Whitaker regularly has on British historians who specialize in foreign histories, which no one ever complains about. And I’m sure it’ll irk you to learn that Whitaker sometimes records episodes in Britain. It’s almost like he’s there a lot and

They couldn’t have included more people of diverse backgrounds. Don’t you know how much extra coding that requires!?!?! #Unityreference

Hey, Bob. Just wanted to say that the interview was great. Best Shall We Play a Game yet.

It’s a personal thing, but I’d very much like to see an AC take place from the POV of the Irish fighting against British Imperialism. And this game is in one of the right time periods for it (though there are several time periods that could work).

I haven’t picked this up yet, not sure when I will... but if such DLC

A note about the child labor missions. The flavor text for these missions sometime alludes to over working these children, such as “neighbors frequently hear the factory running late into the night” suggesting that the children are being overworked. I think one mentioned the children being locked inside the factory

So the game just needs to be set about 40 years earlier. That's an easy fix via patch.

None of this is valid as there are no citations.

The first Resident Evil taught me that Barry Burton was the best thing to ever happen in media entertainment. He will never be topped.

I really liked this game too - even with my complaints about the tone, it's still one of my favourites of the last year.

Dark humour would have been apt, but this wasn't even "zany humour" - it's just a peppering of boss fights with a super-cartoony villain. The rest of the game has a certain level of realism to it, but the boss fights are extremely gamey. Which would be fine if they weren't so tonally inconsistent with the rest of the

I wish Valiant Hearts had been more tonally consistent. It kept veering between poignant, touching examination of the human cost of war, and zeppelin boss battles with moustache-twirling villains. I know they needed some kind of plot to move the protagonists between all the major battles in the conflict, but anything

Good to know. Thanks man.

Few play Assassin's Creed for historical accuracy, but the games are set during important moments from our past. History Respawned asks experts to provide insight on the contextual backdrops of various games. This time, it's Assassin's Creed Unity and the French Revolution.
