“America” is a big country, friend. Dude just got pulled over in Michigan for doing 180 in a Challenger. No jail. $180 fine. Although, in Virginia he probably would have been taken out behind the nearest barn and summarily executed.

It’s Canada. They asked politely and said please, so the driver really had no other option.

How did they manage to pull over a Mercedes doing 191?

Martini please.

Fortunate to have known him for a good portion of my (26 year) life but I can attest that he is a stand up bloke, and have never experienced anything resembling an ego.

My example above was that standing next to one to promote his new movie was as egregious as asking him to wear a Cheeto’s shirt down the red carpet. I am half-certain that the author wrote this just to drive clicks to the story, because it’s controversial.

On top of all that, Brosnan has a reputation for being a super decent and nice human being. This article comes off as petty.

I have a little bit of experience with this stuff as an IP lawyer who lived and worked in West LA at the time. If anyone thinks this story makes Brosnan look bad, that’s likely the result of not understanding how this stuff works.

Here’s a thought - just make the whole plane first class, as in give people a little space - and be happy you can operate.

It is in the best interest of the top teams on the grid to acquiesce to some sort of one time bailout/revenue share to ensure that the smaller teams stay in business and keep the grid at at 20.  I can only hope they're all smart enough to see it a and that Ferrari on particular isn't petty enough to dick it up just

That sounds like a them-problem, not an us-problem.

Not only to avoid paying taxes, but to avoid a host of safety requirements they would need to abide by if they were US registered companies as I understand. The Patriot Act on Netflix had an infuriating episode on the topic.

I read something about this last year about the cruise industry. There’s a legal reason that dates back to the early 1800s as to why cruise ships aren’t flagged in the US - the ships aren’t physically made here in the States, and no US ship maker actually makes cruise ships domestically. Many of the cruise lines are

It’s as though the flag of convenience suddenly has become an inconvenience.

That would (figuratively) sink the business right there.

A million times this. They registered in random island nations to avoid paying taxes and so they could pay their workers next to nothing. Fuck em. Hope they all go belly up.

Let them register their ships stateside and pay taxes and then we’ll look into giving them assistance in a year or two.

They need the revenues that the current season isn’t bringing. They’re not just losing out on 3 months’ monies. Because they (presumably) wish to keep their talented engineers, fabricators and mechanics, they’re probably dipping into their development budget to keep them on their payrolls. If that’s the case, these

She murdered it.

Even here in Scandinavia it’s still a treat to actually see one and they’re rarely this nice!
