does engineering airplane landing gear count as content creation? because thats what we do and it can be done from an ipad today if you really wanted to. i'm guessing you've never used citrix because when you're running citrix applications from an ipad, the citrix app is the mobile app, and everything you access

you can easily offload the heavy lifting to apps published on citrix and vmware farms. if it is set up well and you have the right infrastructure behind it there is no reason you need a powerful desktop these days.

there are already tablets that Dell make that run Windows 7 and have dock's that achieve everything their laptop docks do. the latitude ST (the tablet i'm talking about) is a little underpowered at the moment, but the next version and all the versions after that will be as powerful as any laptop people use at work

you are looking at it completely wrong. the current ipad isn't going to replace computers, but future ipads or devices like the ipad will. i work in IT for a huge corporation, and we have more people asking for ipads (in their current form) than i can count. the future of computing will be cloud computing and thin

don't even need to jailbreak my iphone. love rogers for giving us free tethering (never thought i'd utter those words)

fat chance most people will bother with this. we have a hard enough time getting our users to refill the paper trays themselves, let alone collecting their print-jobs and re-feeding them in there.

i just reloaded my 4 with 5.0.1 to get the untethered jailbreak after living with the tethered since 5.0 was released... i think i'll wait til its untethered.

they were up for a brief 10 minutes, its back down now im assuming because they got hammered.

yes. mine completes ipadh to ipads. it is picking up the fact that you've corrected to iPadHD in the past

anyone who has owned an iphone 3G/3GS and a 4/4S will know that the difference between the screens is a huge and welcome upgrade.

It's a platform that is outdated and insecure. Hogs memory, wastes battery and doesn't really provide anything HTML5 can't. The only reason it's still around is that web designers haven't been forced to stop using it (yet).

if netflix becomes available only through cable bundling i will be cancelling my subscription

im on an iPad 2 right now and the underside of my thumb gets pretty illuminated from something white on the screen. I can imagine it would be even more pronounced with full brightness on and a better screen

This is pretty sensationalist even for gizmodo. This is something you have to turn on, and windows 7 has the same features with AppLocker and no one was screaming injustices then...

the theoretical max speeds of 802.11n vs DVD-ROM are as follows:

optical drives are totally legacy these days.

you basically put all of the worst case scenarios of drinking (puking, slurring, shit talking and drunk driving) and pretended that this happens with everyone who drinks or parties with their friends. pretty big assumption from someone who clearly doesn't drink often, if at all.

my setup at work is a 24' wide monitor coupled with my laptop docked with its a screen as a secondary screen. gets the job done for me, although two 24's would be nice.

i downloaded the app and im trying one of the demo videos now but it seems to be doing nothing..

the reason i hate the metro UI is because its man-ass ugly, not because its different.
