@talkingstove: I believe its because all phone services in Canada are required to provide 911 service 100% of the time, for free. Which it doesn't.

Update 10:38 am: Just to clarify, though we've opened up sign-ups, Google Voice is still limited to everyone in the U.S. for now.

after the first 2 hours of running the required backup (i don't know why its required, i backed up yesterday) i gave up.

i have a 3G sitting on my desk, i tried to update it, but after the 2nd hour of the initial backup ticked by (and the meter was still <50% done) i gave up. at that rate i'll have an iphone 4 before this guy even see's iOS 4

the Redsn0w website is down at the moment :(

i agree with everything in here, except for the part about the iphone being a bad phone.

@305Cane: if you bought an ipad you were really just kicking yourself in the balls anyways.

@Fossa: ofcourse the iphone 4 was going to be faster... regardless of how well the ipad is doing, the iphone is their baby.

@Darkseider: ermm i don't see how the A4 plays in to this because it is supposedly a lot better at power management than the last iphone processors, plus the battery itself is bigger.

@manimatr0n: i never said pull it out at a party... if you're playing rock band at a party thats probably just as lame.

@vsound: this is the first thing that popped in to my head. while i think this is a great way of understanding how to play songs... its basically just a really flashy version of some tabbing programs.

@RoboticSpacePenguin: sure, to a robotic space penguin maybe, but i've never seen a female human impressed more by rock band skills than real guitar skills

hopefully this doesn't mean they will push the canadian release date back even further. its already unfair we have to wait until july.

i don't see the point of the pro guitar... at that stage you might as well just learn real guitar.. its a hell of a lot cooler

so the point is... unless you're holding it 3 inches or closer to your face, its pretty much true.

i would buy these if they weren't so expensive.

this really isn't a shocker... Canada is the same story. There are 4 carriers (although technically only 2 parent companies) that carry the iphone, and they will all be getting the iphone 4 as well.

i'm on a 3G still and am with Rogers and their kickass (albeit pricey) network. i'm in for sure.

@sonnenkonig: i've been tethering on my iphone since OS3 was released. AT&T gimped it for the US people, but its available in Canada... and is free
