Saturday my family grew by one. Through a local dog rescue, we found a 5 year old pitbull mix named Chevy who was likely to be put down soon, as pitbulls in Michigan cannot be adopted directly through animal control. So we are giving him a home until he gets adopted (likely by us.) It’s a great day, new dog that loves…
There comes a time in every cars life where it decides to shed it’s skin and become a beautiful butterfly. And by that I mean have all the paint peel off. My S40 has reached this metamorphoses, and I desperately want to make it look halfway decent once again.
Suuuuper classy FP. Super classy.
Like this glorious thing. I can’t even imagine how awesome this thing is to own.
Well, junkyard hunting was unfruitful. The only S40 of the same generation had the moonroof package, so different ceiling console. Guess it’s back to zip ties for now. However, I found some other little items to flip on eBay to make some cash, should help fund further junkyard expeditions, so not all is lost.
Perhaps I’m crazy, but I see a whole lot of Mustang in the Saab 900 SPG.
I’ve watched both episodes of new Top Gear now, and I’ve gotta say. . . I don’t understand all the disappointment. Sure, they don’t have the same chemistry as the old trio had after so many years. Sure, the new star segment is a bit rubbish. And I’m not the biggest fan of Chris Evans.
My efforts to make my car look good again continue. I’ve spent many hours in the last week removing tint, and now that it is all done, I’m on to the stripe. The Plasti-Dip is coming off without too much difficulty using WD-40, and scraping it off. Seems not to damage the clear coat, so I’ll keep doing it. I’m…
Now that my responsibilities are winding down a bit for the summer, Project HalfAV10 begins. As some of you may have seen, I got a great deal on this manual, lowish mileage, T5 powered Volvo S40 on account of it being riced to hell and back, and dirtier than an abandoned mud factory. The paint is questionable, it has…
I must say I’m disappointed by my school’s performance at FSAE Michigan. We worked so hard on our car, it did reasonably well all week, but the endurance race was a punch in the gut. It was no one’s fault, just a perfect storm of bad luck.
Well, I cut a deal for the car and it drove like a beaut all the way home. In the coming weeks, I hope to de-rice-ify it and fix some of the cosmetic issues with it, and may post a series of posts to that effect.
Today is the day. Soon, I will have five cylinders of Swedish power in front of me. Thee pedals at my feet. Six speeds in my hand.
I went to go see a man about a horse today. And that horse happened to be a red Volvo S40. Manual, T5, low miles, everything I had hoped for. Drove like a dream, threw no substantial codes, not a speck of rust. However, the paint was a whole different story. The entirety of the top-side of the car was peeling…
Oppo, the time has come in my life to rid myself of a bothersome, problematic car. For reasons unknown to me, my Ford Focus wagon has been plagued with electrical and mechanical demons since the day I got it, and they have never relented. My parents and I are tired of putting money into it, and are considering selling…
My school’s Formula Team, of which I am finally a fully integrated, productive member of, is in full manufacturing season. This means lots of awesome pictures to be taken.
Don’t know how many UFC fans there are here, but I can’t believe I stayed up for McGregor vs. Aldo. It is a bad way for Aldo to end a 10 year win streak, and a good way for McGregor to continue his continued domination.
For the first year ever, I am now registered for Secret Senna after jealously watching the results for 2 years now! Extremely excited to be taking part in this now that I have funds to do so. Just thought I’d share my enthusiasm with y’all. And my terrible pun.
At long last, my father has broken down and ordered a new car. His previous ride has cost him nearly what he bought it for in maintenance in the last few years, and he wanted something more roadtrip worthy. I guess having an empty nest will instill such ideas in parents.
A Yugo. In the Midwest. We all have something to be thankful for.
