I think it must be because we're awesome :) Or maybe because we go to so many of these things that we know the drill and to be fair it does make our job easier if everyone is happy and the bride hasn't ripped the bridesmaid's throat out because she doesn't know what she's doing with the corset lacing.

I've sewn 2 brides into their dresses - both times they had one strap shorter than the other. Both brides very grateful that they'd hired a photographer with sewing skillz because neither their mothers nor their grandmothers knew what they were about with a needle & thread.
