I dont know if I would go that far. I think the main issue is that that they have allowed influences into Washington that have no purpose being there. People have been sold a crap bag of goods that Super-PACs and Dark Money are an ok thing in politics.

Both sides have adopted this idea that, if you can vilify the opposition enough, you just make an excuse that they are the reason for the lack of progress. In the end, nothing gets done and everyone suffers. The can is just kicked down the street for the next group to deal with and they do the exact same thing.

My point was that the current Republican elected officials are not a true representation of all conservatives just like Hillary wasnt a true representation of all liberals.

You are so wrapped up in yourself that you still fail to even read what I am saying. You are still chirping on about politicians and talking heads and have never once addressed the fact that the majority of Americans are not extremists on either side of the political spectrum.

Thats the difference. You are talking about celebrities and party mouth pieces and I am talking about everyday people who are actually the makeup of this country. Labeling every conservative in this country as a hate filled religious zealot is absurd and you know it. By dehumanizing them and lumping them into one tidy

You are very right. The Democrats have been more centrist to center-right since the days of Bill Clinton. Their idea of capturing the more center leaning conservatives worked for a little bit but the issue was that they bought into their own hype and never recovered from it.

That is the thing though. There is a difference between the Republican Party and Conservatives. The Republicans were hijacked by the religious right and its been a disaster ever since. I dont disagree with your interpretation of where they are at right now. That being said, there is a false equivalency between being a

I have to agree with that and its pretty sad. In my opinion, Citizens United has been one of the most damaging things to happen to democracy in recent history. That is something where compromise screwed everyone and it should have been ripped out by its roots years ago. Until that is gone, we will continue to be run

I agree. There is zero compromise with sexism, racism, homophobia, and hate in general. But, arent you lumping all conservatives into a single stereotype as well?

The issue has been that there are very few true liberals in elected office right now. Most are old guard neo-liberals who are more center right than anything. The future is promising but people need to get out and vote more and more. Not just on national elections but local and state as well. Nothing will ever be

Compromise - I compromise at work all the time and I know of many of my peers at other jobs that do the same thing. You compromise with your coworkers as to who needs to do what to get a project done. You compromise with your boss on what needs to get done and when. You compromise with those below you in the same way.

You are speaking like he has been there for an entire term instead of a couple months. He is a newly elected Democratic senator for Alabama who is going to have to have some time under his belt to actually do something. 2155 was a 67/31 vote and yet you are implying that he was the only one to cross the isle on that

I hate this for the fact that Deadpool is the perfect outlet for ‘unpopular’ opinions to get aired. While I have never thought of Glover as a comic mastermind (the little stand up of his I have seen was ok), I was really excited for him to take a shot at a series. If anything, it would at least have been a fresh and

You think they would rather elect someone who wouldn’t get anything done? Im not calling Jones a saint and savior at all but I am advocating to wait and see what he can accomplish. My point is, everyone compromises as long as their primary agenda is met. We do it at work and we do it at home.

Yes, we want people in the senate and house to actually do work. No, we dont want more government shutdowns and endless debates for CSPAN without ever getting anything done.

Im not disagreeing with you. I was replying to the OP’s point about Splinter doing hit pieces. Look back at the blogs that they write. All of them are about how bad everyone is. Rarely are they ever trying to promote someone who they think might actually do some good. Nothing is ever about pushing for critical thought.

This is Splinter, all they do are hit pieces. While some of them are well deserved, its still all that the writers do because that is what gets clicks. Its one long b*tch fest with rarely an idea on how to solve things or spotlight pieces on those who are trying to do just that. Its never going to be balanced because

Great article! I have to say that I have used a lot of your advice recently. I just purchased a new daily driver (2014 IS350 F-Sport) after owning my last one for almost 9 years (2004 IS300 manual).

I think everything is cyclical with music in general. Look at popular ‘rock’ music for example.

Id say that Smith was more smart than anything. He jumped on the commercial potential of Hip Hop early and it skyrocketed his career. The same could be said for groups like Kid & Play and Digital Underground. They sowed the seeds to get more people interested in the genre.
