They Conservative Right already thinks we’re a bunch of Satanist baby killers anyway so might as well give ‘em a show.

to be quite frank, if I’m going by the actions of their followers, Satan seems like a way cooler guy than Jesus.

Codpieces don’t freak me out as much as those old-timey curly shoes *shudder*

to this day, whenever someone says “labyrinth”, all I can think of if “crotch crotch crotch crotch crotch crotch crotch....”

they’ve really toned them down for a mainstream audience.

This message has been brought to you by the National Association of High Glycemic Index Producers.

This is insane. I have a friend who lives in the the same area of CO and her daughter’s school wants them to have their preteen kids make a food log. Yes, because preteen girls need to have what they eat judged. Hey CO, just be cool. Let’s not be so...uncool.

Yeah, I can understand “not allowed because of allergies,” but as far as health, it’s good protein. And it’s ESPECIALLY important as a cheap source of protein for families that don’t have a lot of money.

The note from the school makes no sense to me whatsoever. How does someone need bread to go along with potatoes? And who is sending their kid to school with a potato in her lunch box? I can get behind the idea that the school is trying to advocate healthy choices for kids, but they’re making a piss-poor effort to

Maybe that just got in there because PB is typically banned due to it being a common food allergen? That was my first thought. At the same time though, Jif and Kraft and all the (delicious) grocery store PB is really more like “peanut-flavoured sugar margarine.” Regardless, it’s a protein and kids need protein.

I think when they write things like this:

Chip butties for everyone!

Team No One

Of course it is. If you’ve ever been at work eating a less-than-perfect lunch, someone will give you a big old dose of snobbery. Simultaneously, if you are eating a salad and some nuts, someone else will shame you for dieting.

Wait, peanut butter isn’t considered healthy??? Huh?

I can understand the school’s concern, you gotta watch out for that cookie use.

Baked potato and a breadstick is an appropriate snack.

But God forbid we have ‘unhealthy’ peanut butter to go along with our starchy potatoes and bread!

IMHO if a school is going to be this strict with all of the rules concerning food, then they just need go ahead and don’t allow the kids to bring lunches from home. Have the cafeteria feed each student. That way they can be in complete control of what the kids are eating.
