You should check out Federal Moto. I heard rumblings that they were looking into doing this downtown Chicago.

Good eye! I’ve been a huge fan of the round eye conversion, and couldn’t pass up an ‘86 grill in a junkyard a few weeks back. The mid 80's trucks just have so much character!
Haha I feel you there, although this truck and I were born in the same year. We’re basically brothers. I agree 1990 still doesnt feel vintage...but its still a 26 year old truck!
100% Agree. I mean a big V8 diesel land cruiser?? Cmon! So cool! Not incredibly practical for a lot of people due to how crude it is, but I would love to see a few roaming around the streets, especially given how popular the FJ60/62's have become in recent years.
Do it! I’m sure there are plenty of other enthusiasts out there. FJ60s and such
Haha awesome write up! If you’re starting a vintage 4x4 in LA, I’d love to join! 1990 Isuzu Trooper. Also purchased in the strange area located just over the Angeles forest called California City. That was a trip. So many cool trucks seem to be hidden out there. But for real, Vintages 4x4s of LA?
You guys are so far off on this one. Lexus isnt bad, but you’re forgetting a large part of the luxury off road market. LAND ROVER. The LR3 can be had for just about 20k and was one of the most reliable LR’s in recent times. And yes..I know Land Rover and reliability go hand in hand like cheese on apple pie. But I…
They’re so neat! And are a bit smaller than an LC so they handle city life a bit better. Always awesome to see some out in the wild!
I completely agree. I had to abandon my dream of owning an FJ60 because all the owners want $10k+ for their rusted out rigs. But in my endless craiglist search, I found another truck, with just as much character. Behold....the forgotten Trooper! Not as bulletproof as a LC, but very close and with a little love these…
SUPERMOTO EVERYTHING! Everything about this video makes me happy.
Thats so dope! Very impressive skills. Imagine if there was a Africa Twin supermoto with 17in wheels, and stiffer suspension....imagine...
Good to know. It was a rental bike so who knows what it had been though. Thanks for bringing us these dope reviews even with a crash only a few weeks ago. Awesome to see such a high level of dedication!
Solid write up Sean! For sale sign is going on the bike, and my grocery bills will consist of mostly ramen for a few months, but you’ve convinced me to get one. Ohlins fork and all!
Dang too busy with a neon Merc haha? And I’m sure we could find a place to make it a regular thing for Jalop/Splitter races F1/Supercross/MotoGP/Any racing on TV.
I also would like to know about the vibrations. Specifically on the passenger seat. Should I be worried about any lady friends using me for “rides”?
11am on Sunday for us west coasters. Also anyone in LA want to meet up somewhere and watch? I feel like maybe could be a good reason to start Lanesplitter meetups?
What was the Wheelie to Skid Ratio (WSR) for the SP vs the standard bike? Do the upgraded bits on the SP increase the WSR? Assuming that a lower WSR means more rear tire damage, what is the life expectancy of my licence should I choose to buy one?
This guys list of needs in a moto is perfect for a daily ripper. Pulled from his build thread:
Yeah that would be cool, but I heard we’re supposed to supermoto everything so.....BOOM!
That CB1100R concept bike in the bottom photo tickles that part of me where need vs want is all NEED. Like this moment. Please.
