It is indeed unreasonable to expect that any job, regardless of skill or demand, will provide sufficient income in and of itself to support an individual let alone a family.

Right? He probably bought the bed and pays for the home they live in and used his own money to buy a car. Never understood the mentality behind allowing a wife to make a husband sleep on the couch. Oh, you want to over-react and be mad and not sleep next to me? YOU sleep on the couch.
The difference for me, at least, lies in the fact that Rick has moments where he is funny and likeable. He owns that he is a completely self-absorbed sociopath. He acknowledges that he cares about no one but himself. He’s a terrible person at his core, but has many qualities that still make him funny.
It’s worth a shot if the specific vehicle has a couple different head unit options. I wouldn’t try with an upgraded speaker package since that would be an overhaul, but a head unit swap may be worthwhile.
Gotta love the imagery! It takes a sociopath to make a lot of money as a salesperson at others’ expense. It takes a similar level of sociopathy from a buyer to take pride in rescinding control of negotiations and beating them at their own game. :D
So for anyone out there afraid of “stealerships” or being taken for a loop by a sales shark, remember: they’re not all bad. Sure, some will throw morality into the wind with reckless abandon and take you for everything you’ve got, but if you educate yourself and expect to play hard ball, you can walk in and stay in…
Easy solution for locations where the Red to Red/Amber is not available: Watch the perpendicular traffic lights. In most cases you can see the perpendicular light turn yellow and prepare to move.
Excess heat damages the battery. What do you think happens when you leave a phone plugged in and charging for hours on end when it is already at capacity? Heat builds up. Not hard to put 2 and 2 together. If the device is already at capacity and you leave it plugged in and building up heat, you’re damaging it. …
Thank you for supporting my points. As indicated in the very articles you provided, it is not appropriate to 100% charge and deplete batteries any longer and leaving a battery charging constantly will result in damage due to excess heat. A phone that is plugged in and charging generates heat. Very few cases are…
Leaving a smartphone on a charger constantly like that is a sure fire way to burn through the battery much faster. Modern smart phone batteries are damaged by excessive charging or deep 0% / 100% cycles. Better to charge when the battery is low to near full capacity and then leave it off the charger. Even charging…
If someone hoons their rental that they are relying on for transportation and manage to destroy it, they deserve being stranded. I’m not saying to jump the thing dukes of hazzard style, but revving high, burning some rubber, ripping the parking brake a few times? Sure! Screw around more than you normally would, but…
Just a different mindset I suppose. If I’m stuck with a rental, it’s probably because my DD is in the shop or I’m away on a trip. In either case, might as well burn the snot out of the car (especially if it’s a piece of crap requiring me to floor it anyway!)
You don’t understand because you purely see the vehicle as a tool. An appliance built for the purpose of traveling from point A to point B reliably. Jalops typically see vehicular travel as an opportunity for leisure. Hooning your own vehicle means wear and tear that you pay for. Hooning a rental car means getting…
I’m an audio engineer myself, I get it, but I’d still say it’s better for people to have just enough rope to hang themselves with than no rope at all. I mean, let’s face it, some dimwit who likes the sound of their Beats cans can’t be helped no matter what tools that are thrown at them, but to each their own? lol
Am I mistaken for perceiving the high pressure fuel injectors as a red flag here? All I can think of is catastrophic damage and costly repairs if high pressure injectors fail.
At its core, it really is an ethical conundrum though... What is worse? Feeding a market that offers terrible working conditions? Or avoiding said market and leaving those same people without income?
Thanks for the great read. Normally I prefer to reside in my own ignorant bliss surrounded by the convenience of Prime shipping, but assuming warehouse conditions are at best the same now as they were in 2012, it’s quite a hard pill to swallow.....
Man, if I had the money to throw around and buy one as a weekend car, I’d be all for it. And that’s coming from someone who usually can’t stand Minis, owns an Abarth as a DD, and already knows that Minis are known for steep maintenance requirements (again, coming from someone with an Abarth).
Yeah, an otherwise unfamiliar individual who doesn’t know what makes a headphone good or bad will still be subject to their biases, but at least the tests give information regarding what to listen for. It will still help bring some objectivity into the mix to assess their equipment more appropriately.
Real word originating in the 90's according to Merriam Webster ( https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/janky ). So maybe a millenial made it up, or maybe they just heavily used it. Either way, it’s a real term.
