“I am hardly misogynistic, but...”
We always have the option of not reading them, so there’s that. You touch on an interesting point though, so here’s my perspective: Several years ago I told my wife I that all the hoopla surrounding Danica was bullshit, primarily because there were so many women who did so much more for the sport than Danica and yet…

Meetup to celebrate a movie that celebrates lawlessness. What could go wrong?
It’s just a complaint that I generally don’t get. Did you watch the video, he goes on to say the steering is fine at speed. What is the point of having it be any heavier than pinkie light at parking speeds? To me that is a HUGE advantage of electric steering - the range of weights available is wider than with hydraulic…
I don’t get the complaint about the steering. He is saying it is too light at parking lot speeds. So what? Why would you WANT heavy steering at parking lot speeds? As long as it weights up properly at speed, it’s all good, and he says that it does, and is.
I was just about to comment that same thing. they also create more blind spot since you now have the A pillar and a screen blocking the view.
That’s cool and stuff but also the screens look ridiculous. Gotta be a better way to integrate them.
But you know this is not happening.
I watched (from to far away to help) the motorcycle version of this, yesterday. Some poor shclubb dropped a bagger Harley on it’s side. Well its side bag/ running boards. And he was on one side picking and his friend was on the other side pulling.
around 419 pounds, which is 150 pounds lighter than an equivalent horsepower V8.
Years ago, while out motorcycle riding, a “friend” pulled something similar to me. Riding side by side on our bikes at about 60 mph, he reaches over and hits the kill switch on my handlebar. This stopped the engine’s ignition resulting in turning the entire driveline into a mechanical brake and almost threw me over…
Interestingly, there’s something of a mutual respect between the Roulettezoku and the local police. Drivers are hardly ever busted for going too fast because the cops usually leave them alone unless they’re worried about an illegal modification.

The thing that sticks out to me about the French award part is that France has sheltered Polanski.
Yup. This line really says it all to me: ‘“People know that she is very friendly and open and crosses traditional boundaries in relationships with her students,””
Lauding her “brilliant scholarship” and “intellectual generosity” and noting that the French government recently bestowed a prestigious award upon her,
Yup. I’m also v tired of the “—of Jewish heritage—” shit casually thrown in there. Like, who gives a flying fuck about your heritage, not sure how it’s germane to possible sexual harassment, etc.
Ugh. Enough already with the damn “this person has done a lot of good, therefore they could never have done anything wrong” letters. I can understand it’s hard to accept that a friend or idol might not be who you thought they were but keep your thoughts to yourself.
