Yes! Bravo!

Android don’t have these issues... in large part because they don’t force obsolescence through updates. There’s a responsibility between Apple and their money-makers which seems just... lost... here.

So, in a nutshell: Kickstarter projects are a gamble where many people with money and nothing to do with it invest in their possible fantasies/ideals.

Also, many of the people who thought that Star Wars was “just the movies” in the past — who applauded the decision to full-eject the EU — don’t realize what they’re in for.

Matthew Stover. Sean Stewart. John Jackson Miller (Kenobi). Troy Denning (Star By Star, Tatooine Ghost), James Luceno (Darth Plagueis)...

It has become a common practice. They feel if they set a goal that’s more realistic to meet, they’ll get funded, and may even get funded for what they need. It’s pretty logical and I would be perfectly okay with it if it weren’t fraud. I mean, you are telling people you can make a game for so much money, and then you

Thank you for saying this. DEFINITELY This, but ALSO . . .

I’m with you, though I blame Lucas for getting us to this point. His support of the Expanded Universe, in hindsight, was half-hearted at best and at worst something he always planned to disregard when it suited him. By opening those gates for “canon” stories outside of his own, Lucas allowed EU authors to set up these

Supposedly Abrams has even seen the storyline being presented in the newest expansion and had to “sign off” on it, so, there’s something interesting going on for sure.

Darth Bane is still canon, which is good as the Bane Trilogy were the best books hands down ever written in the EU.

There’s a lot of talk about this right now in the SWTOR community. All the new promo materials for the new expansion all have Lucasfilm LTD on it, and all the new story content for the expansions is going through Lucasfilm approval to make sure it doesn’t “contradict” anything they’re establishing in the new movies.

When you spent countless hours absorbing the EU books and enjoying the characters...then are told those characters no longer exist AT ALL, it’s a blow.

Money and timing... I’m not sure how long the Thrawn Trilogy or other EU books took to write, but I would guess they didn’t have the same sort of deadline like with Aftermath, with a new movie looming before it.

Kylo Ren’s mask reminded me of Revan first time I saw it. But the reference would probably be too obscure for mainstream viewers.

George Lucas built a sandbox. That’s all.

Ring Theory is one of the most ridiculous attempts by a fan in extreme denial to make the prequels not suck as much as they do. Paralleling some shots and story elements from your original trilogy is just not that complicated to do.

Having just read the Thrawn trilogy for the first time and then read snippets of Aftermath I am feeling completely let down. Aftermath is just... so bad. How did it ever clear for publishing?

Not to mention awesome games/characters like Shadows of the Empire/Dash Rendar and the Jedi Knight Series/Kyle Katarn that we’ll probably never see again.

Any director who they bring on is going to fall short because DC (WB) just doesn’t like taking success and running with it.

It’s just weird to me. I’m not sure if the latest call of duty’s do, but I remember COD:MW and MW2 did not support a controller. Which was strange since the consoles did. I’m still hoping that ETS2 comes out with a controller-accessible menu system. (grabbing my mouse around my small amount of space between my G27
