Isn’t that a bit hypocritical? How does that not apply at least as much to the people on her list?

The list was publicized without her permission. But please go on and tell me more about how Harper’s is going to treat her fairly when the writer of the piece is a Serena Joy cool girl who thinks men are the real victims. You do realize there are countless lists like this out there, right? Women across all walks of…
My understanding is that the original list was never meant to be publicized, but was rather a sort of semi-private “watch out for these guys” list to be circulated among women in the business to help protect themselves. I don’t see a whole lot wrong with that. It’s certainly far from being in the same league as…
I put this question to both Roiphe and Harper’s spokesperson. Former has yet to respond and latter declined to comment on any specifics re: forthcoming articles.
It seems to me that in the current environment, in which one of Roy Moore’s accusers had her house burned down and you can get death threats out of twitter beefs, the newsworthy bar for outing something like this has to be set pretty high.
Well, in fairness, how often do you contemplate dueling? I personally haven’t drawn my rapier since 1654.
He did.
Mine has been that McCain would realize that the rest of the country deserves the same opportunity for care that he’s receiving, and that he would come and hold out with a plea to his party to work together with the other party to find a solution and guilt them into it.
Choosing the word duel is a way of simultaneously saying he wants to kick her ass while patting himself on the back for being not only gentlemanly (because boys don’t hit girls, silly) but old-tyme-y gentlemanly (the kind of guy who would fight duels of honor.) Chest beating words that in no way put him at any risk of…
I took it to mean he challenged her to a duel instead of a physical fight because she could kick his ass in a physical fight.
“If senator TubbyDucks would like to resolve this matter, he’s free to cash me ousside.”
My fever dream is that Collins can convince two other of her Senate colleagues (Murkowski? Graham? Sasse?) to become independents and caucus with the Democrats for the sole purpose to restoring some balance of power and giving one chamber of congress the power to investigate the executive branch again. But of course,…
They play deeply cynical politics. They will accept an unstable president if it means destroying programs people need.
I honestly don’t understand how progressives don’t get this. Its like we forget that the civil rights movement wasn’t instantaneous, or gay rights too an extremely long time to come to fruition. By removing ourselves from any areas of influence, we damn ourselves to failure.
Bull. Trump listens to the last person he talked to. He is very easily influenced. Look at his near about face on torture after a chat with Mattis.
Oh Look. Captain Strawman arrived.
This. Out of all people, Musk is high on the list of people I’d trust to at least have a cool head, talk to the man, and not succumb to the administration’s current policies without having a very good reason for it.
Since he is currently one of the smartest people in the country, I would imagine Musk is there to talk to him about a variety of things. Whether or not Trump listens is doubtful, but that doesn’t mean smart people shouldn’t try to influence him to be better.
It’s not an invasion, Winston! Poland attacked Hitler!
I both agree and disagree with all of this. Bleh.
