If future characters are “free” in the Ubisoft sense that R6 Siege characters are “free” that means they’ll cost a prohibitive amount of steel and will require months of grinding to unlock, with the “generous” option to unlock them with an easy $5-$10 purchase. That isn’t free in my book.
