YES. I was having this conversation with someone a few days ago. I reread The Handmaid’s Tale every now and then to remind myself, but now—it just feels too real, too close. Can’t do it. I discovered recently my mom has never read it, and any other time I would be like, omg go read it rn! but now... no. No, do not Read more

I started reading Christopher Isherwood’s Goodbye to Berlin (set of stories based on his real experiences in 1930s Germany, on which Cabaret is based) right before the election. Read more

I’ve been thinking, “Shouldn’t I really read this now?” (regarding Handmaid’s Tale and 1984), and it’s just like, “Haha, nope. Nope nope nope nope.” Already having enough nightmares.

Handmaid’s Tale is one of my favorite books. And in spite of the fact that the movie has two of my favorite people, Faye Dunaway and Robert duvall, it was a...travesty.

I watched The Perfect Storm, which I’d read previously, in the middle of research season. Which takes going on fishing boats. On the ocean.

Ha! I kind of want to get on Twitter anyway, so I can tweet rude things at Trump. Although I guess, knowing him, at some point he’ll probably start lockin up people who do stuff like that. :(

Thank you - it’s just that I wasn’t aware of an Alpine place making cheddar.

I love many types of cheese but my all purpose for using in food is Cabot pepper jack. Most of the time if cheese is called for outside of pizza, that’s what I use. We go through a lot of it.

My favorite is sharp cheddar. I have family in this region so even though I don’t live in NY, I’ve been eating Cuba Cheese my whole life. Read more

Yeah for New Year’s weekend one of the grocery stores near me had them 2/$4. I bought a lot. I regret nothing.

I agree with you! Cabot makes good cheddar. I enjoy “lower-quality” cheddars, like grocery store brands, as well as the more expensive stuff. My preferred cheddar this year has been the Costco brand sharp cheddar.
