Yeah, it is happening here the same with a lot of things, people are making judgments without all of the information. If CBS/Survivor wanted to exploit this they could have easily leaked it in the previous season or even heavily promoted this episode leading up to the airing and they didn’t.

The producers and Probst definitely knew since at least the first meetings with him in pre-production.

I’ve reached out to CBS for comment and will update this post if and when I hear back.
