From what I understand, the intact D&E (regularly called “partial birth” thanks to activists framing the discussion) method of abortion allowed parents to hold an intact body, and was chosen by many for that reason. But thanks to pro-lifers/pro-forced-birthers, that is no longer an option in the US.
