I think they’re holding mirrors (like periscopes) to see better.

“I don’t care if you’re white, black, green, or purple!”
It’s truly scary. The setting makes it even worse, these rallies with his supporters. Whipping people into a frenzy. And it’s very disturbing to see a “president” talking about “murderous mothers” so explicitly, rather than a lower-level politician as it’s always been in the past.
Lately, it’s been bothering me what a convenient excuse “born again” is. And on top of that, people who accept it as an excuse don’t even require any evidence. Sample conversation:
Who is benefiting from this? Is there a private company contracted for this work? How and where will the data be stored?
“Accidents” includes people who lean too far out while looking for the train, and also people who meant to get on the tracks but not to be hit. People go down to retrieve dropped items (especially phones), pee, or “goof off”/act like daredevils. Being on the tracks also carries the risk of electrocution.
I believe the order is
1. suicide (common)
2. accidents (common, b/c ppl make mistakes [like falling while drunk or distracted, or accidentally shoving someone else onto the tracks] or have medical events or freak situations like clothing catching in the doors- mix that w/ pretty much no barriers and large crowds)

You wouldn’t happen to live in Indiana, do you? I ask b/c there’s a school that would fit that description.
Several years ago I was spending an evening alone in New York City and felt a little lonely. Went into a bar for a drink. About 30 minutes later 2 male models and their agent walked in, having just left a Ralph Lauren event. I wound up talking with them for a few hours. We didn’t leave together but it was a really…
I live in Indianapolis and have friends who are Crossfitters (give them a break, they’re cool otherwise) and I am definitely asking them for the inside dirt on this. None of them would be okay with this homophobic evangelical assholery.
Thank you, and thankfully he never did. I later found out he’d threatened violence to other women I know too.
Agree. I also abstain from drinking on a lot of first dates. Not because I worry about my own judgment or have a moral objection to drinking, but because it’s a good test to see if the date will accept that or if he will repeatedly push you to drink. If it’s the latter... bye, creep.
Me too. I hate to think of all the animal abuse that also goes on in abusive-to-people homes. Not to put one species of victim over the other, but just that it’s a lesser-discussed aspect of the abuser profile. Many abused women won’t leave because they’re afraid of what he’ll do to the pets; because of that, a lot of…
I see it as a snarky retort to the “but he was just exercising free speech” people.
I’ve noticed that too. Meanwhile I spent most of last year looking for a job. Go figure. (I have a good job now.)
Outkast is everlasting.
One “good” thing - he’s said to watch a lot of cable news, and not all of it Fox. He yells at the TV a lot, which is something we have in common, but for opposite reasons.
Same w/ us Indiana residents about Pence. No one was listening to those who knew best. :( And my grandparents lived in NY, so I was acquainted w/ Don the Con’s shenanigans for quite some time. Although he was in the national news too - no excuse for non-NYers not to know most of this stuff.
Same. Mine are small and perky (I know, poor me), so I wouldn’t wear a bra most days, except I don’t want the reactions people would have to constantly-detectable nipples. When I find a shirt whose texture or pattern lets me go braless, I’m so happy. I *like* my pencil-eraser nips, but people are so…
Hell, I’ll be flying over the Atlantic this fall and I’m already uneasy about it. Throw in a lifelong Titanic fascination (just watched a documentary this weekend) (just noticed another Billy Zane movie is referenced in this thread, love it) and yeah, oceans are creepy. Plus, a WWII vet I knew told me about almost…
