I think it’s good parenting. The kids are going to do it anyway, better to go and keep an eye on them. They know what their kids are up to and can teach them what’s okay and what’s not.

Yeah, but all the other kids love that kid’s art, while some nerd in the class sketches photo-realistic portraits and still lifes and no one cares. There is talent in being able to recognize what is appealing and what speaks to your audience. (I was the kid with some talent but no style. Credit where credit is due.)
