What a voice on that kid!  And such a flair for showmanship!

I'm just unsure why we should watch a two-hour block of performances when the best performances will be available to watch online later (as is the case with good live performances on SNL or other late night shows).  Plus, if people are interested in sampling pop music, couldn't they just turn on the radio or

Bro to bro, that story was riveting.  Cool even.

I read Rolling Stone whenever I get my hair cut and every month has some variation of this headline: Why U2's new album makes them the most important band in rock today.  I'm also fond of the articles that tell us about the fate of various acts touring arenas.
Usually boomer-fellating means picking apart the tastes

Pepsi Please: a defense of an embattled, carbonated beverage.

This articles strikes me as saying the equivalent of, 'you should read Rolling Stone, Tiger Beat, and the Source, even though you may not care about any of the music covered in those magazines."  The Grammy's do provide an interesting snapshot of pop culture, but you can sample pop music just as easily by just turning

I like Dahlia Lithwick and Matt Yglesias's writing, but otherwise Slate is pretty bland. If you couldn't get an interesting discussion going with those writers, it wouldn't surprise me.

Agreed.  I have also seen people feign outrage over much stupider things, so her most irritating quality doesn't even register for me.

Elaine Benes. She always knows what sort of punctuation the situation calls for.

It really needs the follow up: "Lil Sebastian was a horse."
"Because he followed his dream!"

Mariska Hargitay was on either CSI or NCIS for a million seasons.  Larry David's transition from 'man in a cape' to sitcom star would have to be the most notable though.

You aren't a fan of Kramer's nuanced depiction of a gonorrhea sufferer in 'the Burning?'  Eh, to each their own.

Even if all of the twists of Memento's story and all the ways it uses its specific narrative device were spoiled, I would still find it a very entertaining film to watch.  Although, 'too clever to actually be engaging' is the right way to describe the Chinese Restaurant.

Is 'the Voice' the episode where Puddy is just staring off into space until Elaine calls him on the phone?

I liked this comment for the edit alone.

Since I already listed by number 3, I am going to expand this list to 4 things that make Arrested Development worth watching: the literal-minded doctor.
"It looks like, there is nothing I can do…"
"Let him finish."

Setting a story in a time when European borders that we now take for granted are still in flux involves making a lot of assumptions about the audience's knowledge about language, ethnicity, and different conceptions of nationhood, or doing a lot of skillful exposition about all of that.  I admire any film maker

Tobias's street gang trying to clean up the streets.
