Interesting though it is, if I recall correctly that MR2 has been doing that routine since that version of the MR2 was new (2000-2002).

It must be this car that I’ve seen being tested on Angeles Crest Hwy. in southern California. I didn’t even bother taking pictures because, externally, it looks like every other Mini on the planet. We’ve seen it two or three times. IIRC once with other BMW products and twice without.
Their new album is pretty good. Give ‘Spit Out the Bone’ and ‘Lords of Summer’ a try if you prefer old shit. Try ‘Halo on Fire’ if you like new shit. I’m ok with new shit too, so most of the album is good in my book.
I’d like to know, and in today’s world of ECU tuning flexibility this is a really important question for turbocharged engines, how many roughly consecutive 0-60 runs in average weather conditions does it take before the ECU reduces boost? I suspect we are seeing some manufacturers quoting HP numbers based on…
Boooooooooooo.
The aftermarket offers a little gizmo for the NC-generation MX5 that you plug into the top controller that will allow you to operate the top at up to 40 MPH, and without holding down the button. Pricey, yes, but totally worth it.
I’m not asking that they not report it, just please don’t put the details in the headline itself. That way I can scroll past without knowing how it ends, or who crashed out, etc.
Man, I wish Jalop would please leave the spoilers out of the headlines. After a long shift at work I’m just now sitting down to relax and watch qualifying. Sure, I could just not visit the site but......
Cornell was too good to only discuss in the context of driving songs. I’d recommend Audioslave’s “Last Remaining Light” and “#1 Zero”, the latter being a great balance of the power of Cornell’s voice and the power of the all of the other band members sounding very Rage Against the Machine-y albeit a little slower…
It was very much worth it. Good radio is going the way of the Dodo.
The antenna would certainly be my first suspect. And as it it much easier to unscrew and remove than the top is it would be an easy test to conduct if an RF happens to pass through your hands in the future. BTW, thumbs up for the real-world review that isn’t afraid to point out the literal shortcomings of the car.
The whistling you heard was the antenna. It didn’t take me long to remove mine from my ‘10 MX5 and what a relief that was. As for the new generation of MX5, I’d have preferred Mazda just held the line on the 25-2600lbs the last car (my car) weighed and used their weight saving magic to give me a bigger more livable…
