People say, “Your movie’s not just a gay movie.” I’m like, “But it is a gay movie.”

This week Sanne Wevers finished her (gold medal winning) balance beam routine and started calculating her score on paper. The dumb guy NBC commentator some thing about her writing in her diary and the gal NBC commentator (who is likely a former gymnast) had to correct him and explain she was checking her score. She

BobbySerious, Gawker’s resident rape apologist/rapist*, once explained at length that he didn’t care how many peer-reviewed studies showed that women do drastically more housework than men — he knows for a fact that he and his friends do AT LEAST half the housework in their homes, and that’s WAY better evidence than

The perception gap is so fucking real and goddamn depressing. We see it on a macro and micro level.

They should have taken the poll further and asked whether or not they thought women now had an advantage over men because of “reverse sexism” or whatever the hell they call it. I bet the numbers would have been quite illuminating.

Oh god, definitely don't make your SO your only source of socialization. That's a recipe for disaster.

To add to this: my body is not INdecent because it is not thin. It very decently does its thing and carts my brain around successfully.

“ I can’t tell you how many people, actual strangers felt the need to actually go to her and comment on her weight. . . . No one would do that to an overweight person”

This this this! I was going to reply stating the use of “decent body”, as a contrast to average-to-plus, was a value judgement we did not need.

What’s hilarious is fat women are literally shamed, sometimes into being afraid to go out in public, and she’s basically co-opting their actual problems.

Fat shaming and skinny “shaming” are not on the same planet. Not even in the same galaxy.

Lawlz. We’re talking about average to plus-size body types and people are bringing up skinny/thin body types. This isn’t the time for skinny/thin people to pop up and say “What about me?”

“All sizes matter" wahhhhh. Wahhhh. Ugh

Why must skinny people interject themselves everywhere? You’re already all over tv, movies, and print media. Aren’t you satisfied?
