Not all companies.  Mine has been very progressive about WFH, to the point of holding a business continuity drill WFH day a couple weeks ago to ensure we all had the capability sorted out.  In the WFH notice email, they said explicitly for managers not to assume that employees and staff aren’t slacking or not working,

same here. typing this from my office at the moment. i’ve talked to my bosses but they have stated very clearly that unless they are forced to shut down, we are supposed to come to work. we’re a small company with nine people in the office, so under the 10 people limit recommended. we could most definitely work from

I broke my hand on Feb 10th. Ive been working from home since then. I have gone into work a few times since then but last three weeks Ive been working from my couch.

I have a friend that can literally do his entire job from home, yet his company gave him a bunch of shit for asking to work from home because of his kids school getting cancelled. They finally wisened up and allowed employees to work from home TODAY.  That’s after the governor shut down all bars and restaurants.

If keeping people home from work is in the national interest, and I believe it is, then the government needs to step up.

Gee, I wonder who is better situated to ride out a few months of a reduction in income; a multi-billion dollar corporation with access to 0% interest rates from the fed, or a guy making union scale?

My BiL negotiated working from home at his previous job and his productivity skyrocketed after.

It was hard for me back in the day, so dammit the young’ns need to learn it the hard way too!” -old people

I’ve WFH for 4 years now, doing a job that I would have quit 5 times over if I were forced to go into an office.

Most bosses seem to believe it’s not really work if it doesn’t also somehow feel like punishment. If it’s not stressful or otherwise unpleasant, it must be because you’re lazy.

It’ll be very interesting to see how many people look for new jobs after this. My company told us to WFH effective last week until further notice.

“The factory had at least one case of coronavirus and 23 workers in quarantine”

Won’t someone think of the airline CEOs, crying as we speak into their quarterly bonus checks!

Jalopnik is a site about cars and the people that love them. The fucking President of the United States addresses a tweet to people who “like automobiles.” Those are cars. The tweet, again from the President, states things that cannot be proven as true regarding cars and car ownership by Americans. It’s hard to see

The greater mass located further from the rotational center is the real difference-maker, and isn’t really addressed in the article apart from the suspension loads. The author thinks it's due to aero, which is relatively minor.

I got a screaming deal on a set of 19" Rotiform cast wheels. Those suckers weigh about 32 pounds a piece without tires! I got tires for them and mounted them on my GTI after I removed my 16" winter setup. The difference was felt immediately. They look amazing but the acceleration suffers for sure. I’m thinking about

They already are, paying through the tax bills of their employees.
