If you mentioned the Hyundai XG350, I would have to Google it to know what you were talking about. The Galant, I know of. Even the Tempo and Intrigue, I recognize their names. But the XG350? A whole nother level of meh. So meh I had to scroll up to remember its make so I could write this comment!

Yeah sometimes they do help as a heat shield but I imagine that they are not necessary and its just a way for automakers to say “oh yeah that tacky looking bit actually does shit, so suck on that!” more than actually doing something

Sometimes they’re heat shields; then they’re ok. But other times they don’t even have a real exhaust tip behind them, and that really gets me.

IMO the previous gen was the weird looking one while this cleans it up. Something about the way it sits, I’m not sure but in my opinion it looks more like a cohesive while rather than a bundle of different ideas like the old one
