Most definitely! The algorithms ought to be the most complicated part, but if they get figured out then these could be crazy vehicles. Also yes this would trickle nicely down to consumer cars.

Rally drivers are the best in the world. You understand that these guys have to consistently control a car, with too-short a wheelbase and the engine in the wrong place for a car this fast, at more that 200 kph at times, on suboptimal public dirt roads/pathways, not seeing the next corner until a spit second before?
